Žigljen Cheese Aged in Marasca pomace

Žigljen cheese from maraska pomace is a premium specialty that brings tradition and innovation together. Inspired by old methods, our cheesemakers immerse the cheese in maraska pomace, known for its rich aroma, which gives the cheese a special natural moisture and the unique notes of the autochthonous Zadar maraska cherry. This refinement process allows the cheese to develop an intense aroma and a compact texture. Žigljen, a blend of cow's and sheep's milk from Dalmatia, Lika and Kordun, matures for 4-12 months and becomes even richer after refinement in maraska pomace. The result is a gourmet treat with a pronounced aroma and a special texture. This unique cheese is excellent for all lovers of cheeses with character, and it's at its best when stored at 4-16 °C.
