Where goats graze, Jagarka products are born!

Somewhere on the northern slopes of Kapela, in the small hamlet of Kolići near Josipdol, the story of the Jagarka dairy doesn’t begin with machines or major investments – but with heart. About fifteen years ago, Marina and Hrvoje Herceg, born and educated in Zagreb, decided to leave the hustle and bustle of the city in search of health, balance, and deeper meaning in nature. And they didn’t just change their address – they changed their entire way of life.

Driven by a simple wish – that their children grow up surrounded by clean air and homemade food – they moved to the region that Hrvoje knew well from his childhood. Rural life soon opened new doors. From a few goats and the modest wish for their own milk, something much greater was born. Out of daily care, hard work, and love, the Jagarka mini-dairy was created – a family project rooted in simplicity and respect for animals and nature.

Jagarka products are not the result of industrial processing. Their cheese, kefir, and yogurt are made from the milk of goats that graze freely in the mountain landscape, with no additives. Just pure milk, a bit of salt, a drop of vinegar, and knowledge gathered slowly over the years – often through trial and error, but always with love.

Soft goat cheese – creamy, spreadable, and rich in flavor, awarded gold at the 2024 Opatija cheese exhibition. There’s no wrong way to enjoy it: with fruit, honey, bread, in savory or sweet dishes.

Yogurt and kefir – healthy, gentle, and beneficial for digestion, yet each with its own character. Both have been awarded at national evaluations – kefir with gold, and yogurt crowned champion of quality in 2023.
