Gorgonzola Piemonte Piccante is a soft and creamy blue cheese made from whole cow’s milk, with a subtle trace of mold that gives it its distinctive character. Its name originates from the small village of Gorgonzola in Lombardy, near Milan, where, according to tradition, the cheese was accidentally forgotten, leading to the creation of the first blue veins in the cheese.
This cheese carries the PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) label and is produced in historic areas such as Milan, Como, Pavia, and Novara. Gorgonzola Piemonte Piccante has a rich and mild flavor with a hint of spiciness.
It’s perfect for cheese platters, as an addition to pasta, in salads, or simply enjoyed with a little honey and nuts. Recognizable by its creamy texture and mildly salty flavor that develops over time, its gentle bluish mold makes it an essential in the world of delicacies.
