The name Rusula is an old Dalmatian name for a rose, symbolizing the Dalmatian heritage we decided to name this pink wine of our winery Rusula. Rusula comes from our most famous black regional variety Plavac mali with a small proportion of the international black variety Syrah (up to 10%). The grapes for Rusula are harvested in our organic vineyards in locations that we know give higher yields and have the greatest freshness. Wine is a pleasant summer refreshment with the character of the climate and variety. The harvest of our Plavac mali variety begins with the harvesting of the grapes for this wine.
VINEYARD:
The grapes for this wine come from the most famous regional autochthonous variety, Plavac mali, with a small proportion of the international Syrah variety (up to 10%), from the Komarna vineyard's own ecological vineyards. The vineyards are located on the southern slopes of up to 30% at an altitude of 50 to 250 m. The soil is rugged, consisting of limestone with a small amount of soil. Wine yields per hectare are quite small and amount from 18 to 27 H L, giving a concentrated quality of fruit and freshness. Irrigation is done only in case of exceptional dry situations.
WINEMAKING AND AGEING:
The processing and vinification processes begin with the selection of grapes after manual harvesting in our winery. The owners personally carry out the selection of grapes, wanting to be sure that the best grapes go into further production. The wine undergoes alcoholic fermentation in a tank under controlled conditions. Rusula is formed by a short contact of skin and juice. After stabilization and filtration, the wine is bottled and released to the market.
TASTING NOTES:
This wine is a beautiful expression of the serious and gastronomic style of rosé. It is characterized by a pink color of a darker shade of salmon. On the nose, you can feel the clean and attractive aromas of red forest fruits.
