Pag cheese

Pag cheese is our most famous and most awarded cheese. Although it represents less than 15% of our total cheese production, it is the flagship of our production and a synonym for the globally recognised quality of Gligora. It is also the first cheese with which Ivan Gligora won the first international recognition for a Croatian cheese, and it remains the most awarded Croatian cheese. Pag cheese is a limited product, obtained exclusively from sheep's milk from the island of Pag. Its limited nature is tied to the total number of Pag sheep that can freely graze on the pasturelands of the island of Pag. In addition to its own smaller flock, the Gligora Creamery buys Pag sheep's milk from around a hundred families on the island of Pag in most of the island's settlements, and does so daily during the milking season – which runs from January to the end of June. Pag cheese is produced by a traditional process. The first croatian cheese with a protected designation of origin (PDO).   Type of cheese: Hard cheeseTaste: mild and nuttyShelf life: 180 days, vacuum-packed, 4 to 8 °C Status: Designation of origin – PDO Best storage conditions: 8 - 16 °C; 75 - 80% humidityAge: 3-6 months Awards Year Competition Award / Recognition 2025 World Cheese Awards Bronze 2025 Great Taste Awards (UK) 2 Stars 2024 Great Taste Awards (UK) 2 Stars 2023 World Cheese Awards Bronze 2023 Great Taste Awards (UK) 2 Stars (PDO) 2022 World Cheese Awards Gold 2022 Great Taste Awards (UK) 2 Stars (PDO) 2021 Great Taste Awards (UK) 1 Star 2021 World Cheese Awards Silver 2021 World Cheese Awards Bronze 2020 Great Taste Awards (UK) 2 Stars 2019 World Cheese Awards Gold 2019 Great Taste Awards (UK) 3 Stars 2019 International Taste Awards Silver Medal 2018 World Cheese Awards Super Gold 2018 World Cheese Awards Gold 2018 Great Taste Awards (UK) 2 Stars 2018 International Cheese Awards Silver Medal 2017 World Cheese Awards Silver 2016 World Cheese Awards Bronze 2014 iTQi Brussels (Belgium) Crystal Award 2013 Great Taste Awards (UK) 1 Star 2013 Global Cheese Awards (UK) Gold & Best in Class 2013 International Cheese Awards Gold & Best in Class 2012 Great Taste Awards (UK) 2 Stars 2012 Global Cheese Awards (UK) Gold & Best Overseas Cheese 2012 Kasiade (Austria) Gold Medal & 1st Place 2010 World Cheese Awards Super-Gold & Triple Category Best 2010 World Cheese Awards Best New Cheese Trophy 2002 Franciacorta in Bianco 1st Place (Sheep's Milk Category)

Flower of Salt (Solni Cvijet) – Pag Island (125g Pouch)

Elevate your culinary creations with the Flower of Salt (Solni cvijet) from Pag Island, widely regarded as the "caviar of salt." Hand-harvested using traditional wooden tools from the pristine, mineral-rich salt pans of Pag, this rare delicacy forms only on calm, sunny days as a delicate crust on the sea's surface. Unlike regular sea salt, these flaky, hollow crystals dissolve gently on the tongue, offering a subtle, complex saltiness with a high concentration of natural minerals. Designed as a premium finishing salt, it should be crushed between your fingers right before serving. It is the absolute perfect final touch for a slice of aged Paški sir, premium steaks, carpaccio, or even artisanal dark chocolate.

Perfect for a quick aperitivo, salads, snack boards or pairing with a glass of Žlahtina.
